Duration: Long-term Contract

Position Overview
The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission is seeking a Network Engineer 2 to support its Network and Security Team in maintaining and securing enterprise network infrastructure, server environments, and private cloud systems. The selected candidate will assist with network administration, server maintenance, security incident response, and infrastructure troubleshooting in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers.
  • Ensure servers are patched and maintained at current security levels.
  • Assist with investigation and remediation of security incidents.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco physical switches and VMware distributed virtual switches.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cradlepoint routers.
  • Monitor and manage support ticket backlogs.
  • Document technical issues, risks, and remediation recommendations.
  • Support network, security, and server infrastructure projects.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet project and operational deadlines.

Required Skills
  • 2+ years of VMware vSphere experience.
  • 3+ years of Windows Server Administration experience.
  • Experience supporting virtualized server environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
  • Cisco Networking.
