Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive infrastructure architecture strategy that aligns with the business goals and supports our products and services. Provide input the technology stack, network topology, hardware, software, CICD and cloud infrastructure required to meet the firm's objectives.
• Identify key control points within the Infrastructure Design and ensure monitoring and alerting of those control points and close any control gaps.
• Collaborate with software engineers, database administrators, and other stakeholders to integrate infrastructure components effectively. Ensure seamless communication and data flow between various systems, platforms, and applications.
• ssess, design, and manage the cloud infrastructure, leveraging public and private cloud services. Evaluate different cloud providers, create architectural frameworks, and implement scalable and cost-effective solutions for cloud-based applications and services.
• Develop and implement security and compliance standards and best practices for the infrastructure. Ensure the protection of sensitive financial data, maintain data privacy, and comply with industry regulations.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve overall system efficiency and reliability. Conduct capacity planning exercises to ensure the infrastructure can handle increased demand and growth.
• Solid understanding of TCPIP communications, monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve overall networking performance of OLTP high volume applications, including packet capture/Wireshark analysis. Ensure the networking infrastructure can handle increased demand and growth.
• Design and implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical infrastructure components. Conduct regular testing and maintain documentation to ensure readiness in the event of a disruption.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to infrastructure teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to infrastructure architecture and recommend relevant advancements to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to evaluate and select infrastructure solutions, negotiate contracts, and manage ongoing relationships. Ensure compliance with service level agreements and maintain vendor accountability.
Skills and Experience Required:
Required:
• 12+ years' experience as an Infrastructure Architect or a similar role in the fintech or financial services industry.
• Strong knowledge of both mainframe infrastructure (IBM zOS) and distributed infrastructure (Linux, AIX, Windows and Cloud) principal of design and performance with prior experience of interoperability between platforms in high volume OLTP environments
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure design principles, network architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and virtualization technologies.
• Experience in implementing and managing highly available and scalable systems for financial applications.
• Solid understanding of security and compliance standards in the fintech industry.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make strategic decisions while considering business and technical requirements.
• Strong communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
