The position:
We are looking for a motivated, driven, and collaborative Software Engineer with experience in software development to join a talented team that conducts research, design and development of software running on Linux or Android OS to power our latest products.
Responsibilities
What We're looking for:
  • Participate in the design and development of software solution.
  • Take ownerships of features from concept to deployment
  • Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering implement and guidelines
  • Support diagnoses, resolve issues, and fix bugs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete and synchronize the software implementation cycle
  • Participate in a complete software development life cycle using Agile methodologies
  • Work independently, handle complex tasks, and contribute to projects
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns, and offer technical guidance and feedback
  • Identify areas for optimization and enhancement, and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of the team

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solid understanding of C/C++ programming
  • Proven experience in software development for Linux and embedded systems
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
  • Experience designing and working with scalable architectures
  • Proven experience in socket programming, PUB/SUB and event driven architecture
  • Solid Understanding of data structure, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
  • Knowledge of Android application development using Java/Kotlin and Android Studio/Gradle
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, languages and technologies
  • Working knowledge of basic hardware components, block diagrams and schematics
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/UDP/IP), VLANs, and basic switching and routing concepts
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with user-centered, iterative design and development process
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Working knowledge of the Software Agile methodology and in practicing Scrum
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/software engineering/electrical engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • Preferred 5 years of proven experience in Software Engineering to include the following:
    • Knowledge of latest and greatest C/C++ and later
    • Experience in Linux and embedded system

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
May require travel up to 5% of the time to domestic and/or international locations.
The salary range of $100,000 to $167,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum.
