A CICS and MQ Systems Programmer at Navy Federal Credit Union provides 24x7x365 administrative, configuration, troubleshooting, and software deployment support for CICS Transaction Server, WebSphere MQ, and supporting software products. The CICS and MQ systems programmer is responsible for maintaining the high availability production CICS and MQ environments as well as a number of test CICS environments. An MQ and CICS experienced professional who enjoys resolving system problems, and providing technical guidance on all things CICS and MQ will be a great addition to our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of work experience in mainframe CICS and / or WebSphere MQ systems programming.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve Navy Federal mainframe transaction processing systems. Configure and troubleshoot transaction processing systems and supporting tools.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot problems.
  • Configure and maintain transaction processing software to optimize system performance and availability.
  • Document and update system procedures and provide support to end users.
  • Develop and test new software and updates.
  • Support our automation goals and high availability goals.
  • Plan, test, and document changes.

Qualifications
  • A demonstrated ability to carefully plan, document, and deploy software updates to multiple environments.
  • WebSphere MQ queue sharing group configuration and tuning experience.
  • Recent experience with CICS configuration, tuning, and production support. Experience in a highly available CICS environment is a big plus.
  • Ability to interact with management and to actively participate as a member of a team.
  • Experience with VSAM (including Record Level Sharing), DB2 in CICS, Unix System Services or Linux, monitoring tools, CICS and MQ automation tools, web interfaces, and dump diagnosis / debugging tools is helpful.
  • Experience programming in any programming or scripting language.

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience programming in Assembler, COBOL, Python, and / or Java is helpful.
  • Experience working with DevSpaces, GitHub, ServiceNow, YAML, and Ansible can help you help us serve our members.
  • Experience administrating CICS with tools, including CEDA, Explorer, and experiencing developing or packaging solutions in an IDE or using tools like Maven.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and procedures
