Job description

Windows/Linux Systems Administrator – Huntsville, AL

Annual Salary Range: $80,000-95,000

In-Depth Engineering Corporation seeks Linux Systems Admin to support our rapidly growing engineering work on Ground Missile Defense (GMD) Weapons Systems. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.

This is a permanent, full-time position and the work is performed on-site at our customer site in Huntsville, AL. Work schedule - Flex 4/10 Schedule or Flex 9/80 w/every other Friday off - or a straight 5/8.

Candidates for consideration must be a US citizen and must have an active DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.

Duties

  • Oversee the maintenance and security of company intranets and computer systems, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
  • Set up and maintain user access, including permissions and security protocols
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues promptly to minimize downtime
  • Work with other IT staff and departments to identify and implement new technologies that enhance system performance and user experience

Basic Qualification/Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship with an active Secret clearance required
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline
  • Experience with Systems Administration for Windows or Linux Operating Systems such as Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Must have a DOD 8140 IAT Level II certification or higher (ex: Security + CE)
  • Experience with various windows and Red Hat scripting using tools such as Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Knowledge of IAVM’s and addressing software vulnerabilities 

Desired Qualifications

  • Active Linux Certifications (Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE)
  • Active Windows Certifications (MCSA, MCSE, etc.)
  • Experience with DevOps architecture such as Kubernetes, Nexus, Docker, GitLab, etc.
  • Experience with security compliance and related security scanning products (ACAS, STIGs)
  • Experience in enterprise backup and restore solutions, storage area network (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS)
  • Experience with network administration and related infrastructure
  • Experience with hardware installation and maintenance to include firmware upgrades
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux scripting languages
  • Experience with Windows Patching/WSUS application
