Description
Job Title: Software Development Engineer (Python/Linux Backend)
Duration: 6 months (Est. Start Date: 08/17/2026 - Est End Date: 01/29/2027)
Location: Santa Clara, CA 95054 - 100% onsite at the Santa Clara office. Relocation not considered at this time. Preferably within 30 minutes total commute time to the office only.
Pay Rate: $80/hr. - $86/hr. on W2
Manager Notes:
  1. Strong Python and Linux experience required. If candidates do not have substantial expertise in these, do not submit. C++ experience strong preference.
  2. Candidate who can keep up with the fast velocity of the project, and quick in development.
  3. Candidates who have worked in enterprise systems, in a similar space/domain as (not storage as such but more on the complex and larger enterprise domain). This way, they know how to look and validate a complete and complex system. Those who have experience working on smaller projects will not be a good fit.
  4. Has worked on APIs and API integration.
  5. Also has done feature validation and test development

Duties:
  1. Build and enhance backend service logic and related validation flows.
  2. Implement and maintain compatibility, health-check, and rules-based logic used to validate complex system configurations.
  3. Support API and integration work with downstream systems and partner teams.
  4. Design and implement robust test infrastructure for feature validation.
  5. Collaborate with engineering, product, and partner teams to clarify requirements and translate them into deliverable engineering work.
  6. Help reduce schedule and dependency risk on committed roadmap items by executing independently and driving tasks to closure.

Skills:
  1. Strong backend software engineering experience, ideally in Python-based services or libraries.
  2. Experience with systems software, infrastructure software, or other technically complex backend platforms.
  3. Experience designing or integrating APIs across dependent services.
  4. C+experience and developing with REST interfaces is a plus
  5. 3+ years of experience working with remote teams at a product company
  6. 4+ years of Linux development experience
  7. Storage experience is desirable but not required

Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
