Job description

PURVIS Systems is a technology solutions partner that develops, implements and maintains mission-critical solutions for federal and local governments.
PURVIS Systems has an immediate opening for an Installation Engineering Technician to be part of an installation team. The Installation Engineering Technician will work closely with other team members, subject matter experts, Navy military and civilian personnel. The Installation Engineering Technician will be a member of a team that assembles finished products using sub-assemblies, parts and fasteners. Fabricates and assemblies cable harnesses, wires electrical chassis and electrical boxes.
The day to day responsibilities of this role will include:
  • Works with installation and engineering groups on mechanical and electrical layout/design of product updates and new product releases.
  • Fabricates and designs cable harnesses and wire assemblies.
  • Solders
  • Wires electrical cables.
  • Researches sources for installation/lab/office materials.
  • Develops bills of material.
  • Develops installation kits for use by system installers for product installation.
  • Documents and reports on work performed.
  • Position requires lifting, pulling or carrying items of approximately weight of 40 lbs and size in confined spaces, including vertical ladders; commensurate with job requirements.
  • Travel will be required for system installations, with minimal notice.

Qualifications:
  • Technical School or apprenticeship program in related field of electrical or electronic support.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of electronic technician work experience.
  • Ability to interpret schematic layouts
  • Knowledge of soldering techniques
  • Basic understanding of Computer hardware, MicroSoft Office, LINUX and/or Windows operating system

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a government security clearance to the level of Secret.
