Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking a Linux System Administrator to provide technical support to the Fort George G. Meade. The role includes administering and securing RHEL systems in a classified DoD lab, supporting test environments, and working directly with Government personnel and mission customers.
Duties:
  • Install, configure, secure, and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Manage and maintain YUM servers and internal package repositories.
  • Apply DISA STIGs, run SCAP scans, and implement remediations.
  • Conduct ACAS/Nessus vulnerability scans and support RHEL patching and compliance.
  • Provide limited support for DNS and IPv6 configuration.
  • Perform basic administration within VMware 6.7 environments.
  • Support cross platform coordination with Windows Server 2016, Active Directory, and domain services.
  • Operate systems on SIPR and other classified networks while adhering to all DoD security requirements.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, and configuration records.
  • Work collaboratively with Government staff, lab engineers, and end customers.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
  • 5+ years of hands-on Linux administration experience, specifically with RHEL 9
  • 3-5 years of VMware experience in enterprise environments
  • 3-5 years of ACAS experience, including Security Center and vulnerability remediation
  • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration, patching, and troubleshooting background.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux command-line tools and scripting
  • Experience with system patching and vulnerability remediation processes
  • Experience with YUM, DISA STIGs, SCAP, and ACAS/Nessus.
  • Familiarity with DNS, IPv6, VMware 6.7, and Windows/AD environments.
  • Previous experience working in classified DoD environments and SIPR, classified environment experience.
  • At least one active certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CASP, or equivalent)
  • YUM Server configurations and administration experience
  • Technical degree is a plus
