Our client in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Senior Systems and Network Administrator to join their team!
This is an onsite/ full-time/ direct-hire position
Salary range based on experience: $95k-$120k
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems and Network Administrator who can help maintain and enhance our Azure, Meraki, VMware, and SonicWall environments. The Systems and Network Administrator will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our client's servers, networks, cloud services, and critical systems across multiple facilities. This role will provide advanced technical support, implement infrastructure improvements, and ensure the reliability and security of our operational technology. This individual will also be responsible for resolving Help Desk tickets.
Main Responsibilities:
  • You will be required to provide technical support to Desktop PCs, Laptops, Tablets, Smart Phones, Desk telephony, AV equipment, Comms room devices/activities, network cabling, software installation, troubleshooting, and any other related technology
  • Provide a high level of customer satisfaction and extremely strong communicator, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on quality over quantity
  • Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems
  • Work self-sufficiently to perform fault diagnostics and deliver user requirements while maintaining standards and SLAs
  • Accurately test, identify, prepare, repair, resolve, and document end user technical issues relating to Desktop support. Devices include, but are not limited to, desktop PC, micro PC, thin client, laptop, tablet, smartphone, desk equipment, cabling, printers, and MFDs
  • Customer ticketing is worked upon, ensuring the timely delivery of service, along with user-facing updates
  • Be responsible for cable runs and cable termination of fiber and copper
  • Provide on-site cover as part of a shift arrangement and support remote offices when required
  • Troubleshooting and resolving software issues
Required Skills:
  • Capable of installing, removing, maintaining, and monitoring of IT technologies
  • Capable of troubleshooting issues with an end-user device, including all hardware, operating system, drivers, or client application challenges
  • Ability to document end-to-end workflows to ensure easy resolution of future incidents or tickets
  • Capable of developing and deploying required OS images and builds (as well as future images/builds on compatible hardware (Example: Win 11, Win10, Win7, etc.)
  • 24x7 availability, to be provided for the duration of a major Incident
  • Capable of offering remote and on-site technical services (proactive and reactive) to the Customer and its associates
  • IT Software/Hardware Asset Management
  • Excellent skills in user IT infrastructure - desktops, laptops, printers, handhelds, smartphones, and A/V equipment, VoIP
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Windows 11 (including legacy versions), Office 365, Teams, and other well-known applications
  • Administration experience of Azure, Intune, MS Active Directory users & groups, global policies and management concepts
  • Ability to interact with customers to ensure that a polite, efficient, and responsive service is provided
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative. Can bring solutions to the team with little direction
  • To work through issues analytically to a successful conclusion

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
  • 6+ years of professional experience in systems or network administration
  • 6+ years hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft Azure / Azure AD / Microsoft 365
    • Cisco Meraki switches and security appliances
    • Manage virtualized infrastructure using VMware, vCenter, Hyper-V
    • Configure and maintain Meraki switches, routers, fiber converters, firewalls, SonicWall network security appliances, and VPN
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Windows SQL Server, Linux Server, Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Design, implement, and support LAN, WAN, VLAN, VPN, wireless, and internet connectivity
  • Deep experience troubleshooting servers, network and cloud-integrated systems
  • Expert with Ubiquiti device configuration and deployment
  • Ability to program in .NET, PHP, and SQL
  • Working understanding of Terminal Server configuration and application deployment
  • Manage endpoint protection, EDR/XDR platforms, vulnerability management, and security monitoring tools. Plus the ability to investigate possible security threats and implement solutions

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, etc.)
  • Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications.
  • VMware VCP certification.
  • Experience with:
    • CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar EDR platforms
    • Fortinet, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Cisco, or Meraki networking equipment
    • DR Planning and BIA Matrix's
