Job description

Job Summary:
Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to provide support at a major national laboratory located in Albuquerque, NM or Livermore, CA. The role involves administering Linux servers, ensuring patching and security compliance, and supporting a team in designing and maintaining complex systems.
Responsibilities:
• Support a team that designs, implements, maintains and supports enterprise class, highly available, scalable and secure information systems and applications.
• Under minimal direction, responsible for troubleshooting centralized and distributed physical and virtual Linux servers, by applying technical and operational knowledge to configure, operate and maintain information processing, telecommunication systems and analyzing performance statistics to support tuning, automation and optimization activities.
• Provides administration to Linux servers, which includes patching and security compliance requirements, as well as troubleshooting customer issues.
• Participates in customer projects to provide technical expertise in the area of system upgrades, proves improvements, adherence to security requirements and infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications:
Required:
• US Citizenship
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance throughout the life of the contract.
• Candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Linux Server management and troubleshooting (system setup, account management, file services, network configuration, license management, application hosting and end-user application support).
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are also required.
• In lieu of degree, relevant experience is applicable
