Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician

Position Summary

1st shift 3 AM -11:30 AM

$18.54 per hour

Full-Time


The Off-Site Linen Distribution Technician is responsible for supporting linen distribution operations by delivering clean linen and collecting soiled linen throughout assigned client facilities. This role ensures the timely, accurate, and safe handling of all linen while preventing cross-contamination and maintaining high service standards. The technician serves as a primary point of contact for the client and represents the organization's values by consistently exceeding customer expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Transport clean linen in covered carts to designated areas.
  • Collect soiled linen from multiple locations and return it in covered carts to the appropriate area.
  • Verify and document linen quantities before delivery.
  • Perform linen inventory counts as required.
  • Address and resolve client concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Communicate potential client issues, service needs, or linen quality concerns to the supervisor.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive, solution-focused service.
  • Uphold all quality, safety, and operational standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Follow all institutional procedures, safety protocols, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Operate equipment and perform tasks needed for the effective operation of the departm:30ent.
  • Perform basic clerical duties such as typing, answering phones, and documentation.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, manufacturing, or a similar industry preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to operate linen carts, equipment, and distribution mechanisms.
  • Ability to sort, stack, and load linen items into carts.
  • Ability to lift to 35 lbs. and push/pull carts weighing up to 250 lbs.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software applications.
