Job description

Assistant Football Coach (Linebacker Coach)

St. Vincent Catholic Schools seeks a passionate and responsible Assistant Football Coach (Linebacker Coach) for our High School football team to lead and mentor student-athletes. The ideal candidate should be a positive role model promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth in a Christ-centered environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct practices that develop skills, physical fitness, and teamwork
  • Supervise and manage student-athletes during practices, games, and travel
  • Teach and reinforce good sportsmanship, respect, and Catholic values on and off the field
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director, other coaches, and school staff to ensure a positive athletic experience
  • Communicate clearly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and team needs
  • Maintain equipment and ensure student safety at all times
  • Follow school and league policies and diocesan guidelines, including Safe Environment protocols
  • Model Christian behavior and promote the mission of Catholic education through leadership

Job Requirements

  • Prior coaching or playing experience in the sport is preferred
  • Knowledge of the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport
  • Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the values and teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Ability to lead with integrity, fairness, and compassion
  • Must complete all required diocesan Safe Environment training and background checks
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
