Description
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine (NYUGSOM) is conducting a national search for a talented physician specializing in MR Linac based Radiation Oncology to lead the nations fastest growing Unity MRL program. This leader will work closely with the Vice Chair to establish the vision for and guide the development of the MRL program, and oversees all operations and functions in the MRL department. Successful candidates will be an accomplished physician and proven leader. The position works closely with multidisciplinary specialists in the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC) and across the NYU Langone Health system. Candidates that specialize in prostate cancer or other diverse disease-site are encouraged to apply. Candidates should be board-eligible/certified and should have completed a four-year residency approved by the ACGME/AOA. The Department of Radiation Oncology is located in New York City.
The MRL program director will be charged with leading a nationally recognized MRL program and contributing to the development of the program to expand and grow it to multiple disease sites.
NYU Langone Health department of Radiation Oncology has state of the art facilities that incorporate the most advanced radiotherapy and imaging technologies such as stereotactic radiosurgery, magnetic resonance imaging guided linear accelerator (MRL), Edge, TrueBeams, brachytherapy, stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), Ethos with Hypersight, Exactrac and other advanced technologies.
About the Department of Radiation Oncology
The NYU Department of Radiation Oncology is an integral part of the PCC and provides state-of-the-art care to its patients using the latest technologies. Care is provided at three locations in Manhattan, a newly built center in Brooklyn, and at the NYU Long Island campus. The department serves over 4,000 new patients annually. It consists of 26 clinical faculty as well as 16 Ph.D. physicists. The department has an ACGME accredited four-year residency program in radiation oncology as well as a CAMPEP accredited two-year residency in medical physics. Faculty in the department co-lead disease-site specific multidisciplinary teams within the cancer center which includes management of a large clinical trial portfolio. In addition, the Division of Cancer Biology and Translational Research within the department conducts high-impact basic and translational research in state-of-the-art research facilities.
