Job Summary
To be aconstant companion to monitor resident assigned to you and when they leavetheir room be in direct line of sight.
Qualifications:
  • Must be atleast 16 years old, have reliable transportation and schedule flexibility towork evenings and weekends if needed

Duties andResponsibilities:
  • Always monitor the whereabouts of assignedresident during your shift
  • When resident exits their room, youare to go with them to their desired destination (i.e. Walk about facility, attend activities,dining room for meals, etc.)
  • If resident tries to touch another resident,you are to intervene immediately by redirecting them or the other resident awayfrom the situation
  • If resident is in their room, you areto be in the chair directly across the hall, having direct supervision of theresident
  • If they want to close the door totheir room, you are to open it and check on the resident every 15 minutes
  • You will be relieved forbreaks/lunch
  • You can not leave until someone isthere to take your place
  • If you need a bathroom break, thenyou can ask another employee that is in the hallway or at nurses' station totake your place while away
  • When family comes to visit, and theywant privacy they can shut the door to the room
  • If the family would like to walkaround the facility with the resident, you must be within eyesight of theresident
  • At no time are you to provide direct1-1 care unless you are certified as a nursing assistant or a nurse
