Job description

As a Line Cook at Tunxis Country Club, you will work under the direction of our Head Chef to prepare and cook menu items in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and cleanliness, while efficiently executing dishes during service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
  • Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
  • Monitor food stock and assist in inventory management
  • Experiment with and suggest new menu items and seasonal dishes

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school degree preferred
  • Proven experience as a line cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, equipment, and food safety standards
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexible scheduling availability, including nights and weekends
