Job description

Line Cook

WeatherTech Direct is seeking a well-qualified Line Cook to help prep, cook, and serve meals while creating a memorable customer service experience for guests and employees. This is a Monday – Friday position! Hourly rate is $21/hour commensurate with experience.

As a Line Cook you will

  • Perform daily preparation duties including, but not limited to, portioning, cutting, and precooking various foods
  • Pack necessary food and supplies to take to assigned locations as needed
  • Set up service line prior to lunch service
  • Retrieve and organize lunch order tickets by time; plate and serve orders
  • Breakdown service line and inventory food items for restocking; restock paper products, silverware, cups, etc.
  • Clean remote location including sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, mopping floors, etc.
  • Assist in all other areas of the café department as needed
  • Date and rotate food on a daily basis
  • Maintain a valid Food Service Sanitation License
  • Work a full-time schedule; work overtime as business demands including extended hours and/or weekends; work nights or weekends as needed for special events
  • Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-year experience as a cook/line cook in a high-volume kitchen
  • Able to handle 100+ covers in a 3-hour period
  • Grill experience is a must
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check is preferred
  • Basic math, measuring, reading, and counting skills
  • Able to speak and understand written and verbal work instructions
  • Ability to properly handle a knife
  • Knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with employees and guests
  • Strong multitasking and organization skills
  • Able to stand and move about for duration of shift
  • Constantly required to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Authorized to work in the United States
