Lloyd's

Chatham, ON • On-site

Full-time

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

Lloyd's is the world's leading insurance and reinsurance marketplace, bringing together the world's leading risk takers to advance global progress.

Our strategy is focused on delivering strong underwriting performance, operating an efficient and flexible marketplace, and maximising the capital advantage of the Lloyd's market - while continuing to build a Lloyd's we are proud of.

How we deliver this, matters. We take the risk, make things happen, and own the outcome - working together across our global network to turn insight into impact.

We're looking for a Manager to lead our FAL Validation team within Member Services.

This is a people leadership role with real impact. You'll lead a specialist team responsible for reviewing, approving and processing member and investor capital changes, ensuring activity is delivered accurately, on time and in line with regulatory, trust and policy requirements. You'll also help shape how we work, improve controls and deliver an outstanding experience for our members and stakeholders.

What you'll do

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of a team that supports key operational finance activity at the heart of the Lloyd's market.

You'll:
  • Lead the delivery of member and investor portfolio and capital change activity, including deposits, withdrawals, substitutions and rebalancing requests.

  • Manage, coach and develop a team of specialists, creating a culture where people can perform at their best.

  • Ensure transactions are reviewed and approved in line with regulatory, trust and control requirements.

  • Oversee critical financial cycles and deadlines, ensuring accurate delivery and effective governance.

  • Monitor operational risks, exceptions and breaches, making decisions and escalating issues when needed.

  • Maintain a strong control environment through quality assurance, accurate management information and effective oversight.

  • Build relationships across Lloyd's and with external stakeholders including trustees, brokers, member agents and investment managers.

  • Drive continuous improvement by simplifying processes, strengthening controls and improving service delivery.

  • Support change initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and member servicing.

What you'll bring

We're interested in what you can do and the experience you've gained, wherever you've developed it.

You'll bring:

  • Experience leading operational teams in financial services, insurance, investments, banking or another regulated environment.

  • Strong people leadership skills, with experience prioritising work, developing capability and delivering results through others.

  • Sound judgement and the ability to make decisions in a risk and control-focused environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail when reviewing transactions, controls and operational data.

  • The ability to interpret policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and apply them consistently.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of strengthening processes, controls or service outcomes.

Being inclusive at Lloyd's is integral to how we work - and how we deliver impact.
We aim to build a diverse, inclusive environment that reflects the global markets we serve, where everyone is treated with dignity and respect and supported to reach their full potential.

We take the risk by challenging traditional thinking and being proactive about inclusion. That means being open and positive about workplace adjustments, prioritising health and wellbeing, and investing in diversity and inclusion training so everyone feels able to contribute and succeed.

We make things happen by turning our commitment into action. Through employee networks, mentoring, volunteering opportunities and sustained investment in professional development, we create an environment where inclusion is experienced daytoday - not just talked about.

We own the outcome by focusing on impact. By bringing together diverse perspectives and the best minds in the industry, we work collaboratively with underwriters and brokers to create innovative, responsive solutions that share risk and solve complex problems across global markets.
