Job description

Join one of the nations largest, most respected health systems and experience what it means to live well. Advocate Health is seeking a skilled acute care/trauma surgeon to serve patients at Advocate Condell Medical Center, in Libertyville, Illinois. 

Position highlights

  • Full time acute care/trauma surgeon
  • Condell Medical Center, located in Chicagos northern suburbs, is a 257-bed acute care hospital offering around the clock care, and is the only Level I hospital in Lake Count
  • The general surgery group consists of 7 physicians and is supported by dedicated inpatient Advanced Practice nurses, Registered Nurses, MAs and a Trauma Nurse Coordinator
  • This is a robust surgery practice with a diverse group of experienced partners covering acute general surgery and trauma call, with additional opportunity to establish and grow an elective general surgery practice
  • As a busy Level I Center, trauma/emergent surgical calls include blunt and penetrating trauma, head injuries, hernias, bowels, etc.
  • Full complement of subspecialists and intensivists are available to support you and your patients
  • The group currently rotates to cover trauma and acute care surgery call and is approximately 1:4 days/week; 1:4 weekend coverage is Friday 7 AM-7 PM, 24 hours on Saturday, and Sunday 7 AM-11 AM
  • General surgery call is shared and will be approximately 1:9
  • EPIC EMR 
  • Be part of an integrated nationally recognized organization with physician-led medical group and embedded service line
  • Leverage access to DAX Copilot, an AI-powered clinical documentation tool integrated with Epic, streamlining clinical workflows by generating draft patient notes for efficient review, editing, and signature
