Job Description 

Description of position

The Production Line Assistant visually inspect all production lines and inform production line clerks of any products failing inspection, following all safety protocols and workplace policies as required by established procedures.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

  • Performs visual inspections of products and informs production line clerk of products failing inspection, with a focus on quality and detail.
  • Cleans equipment daily in accordance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP) standards.
  • Keeps the line clean and free of debris at all times to ensure safety.
  • Responsible for practising and adhering to food safety, good manufacturing practices (GMP) and health and safety procedures.
  • Transfers products from one line area to another.
  • Assists in other areas of the department as needed.

Non-essential functions and tasks

  • Assists in other areas of the Commissary as necessary.

Qualifications

Education/Training: High school diploma or GED preferred.

Permits/Licenses/Certifications: Costco Food Safety Certification - Level 1 required upon hire.

Experience: None.

Knowledge/Skills: Organizational skills and an eye for detail is an asset.
