ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Maintaining control over the production line always (Machine and Manpower).
  • Escalation of problems to the Group Lead
  • Machine problems/Tool changes properly noted on L2L
  • Job observations completed and oversight is given for each operator to ensure procedures are followed and we safely build a quality product.

Ensure all daily production activities are thoroughly communicated to Group Leads
  • Downtime documentation
  • Update Hour by Hour boards & production logs during the shift
  • Notification of operator problems-coaching support

May be required to perform tasks associated with troubleshooting product quality and performance
  • Repair as knowledgeable or experience allows
  • Ensure to review situation for resolution prior to calling for assistance
  • Assist Maintenance-PE with problem resolution/ repairs

Maintain the production line in a safe, neat, clean and organized environment
  • Enforce (coach team members & escalate repetitive problems to Group Lead): PPE / 5S / Process / Procedures
    • PPE worn always
    • White shoes & smocks
    • 5S End of shift cleanup for each operator
  • Enforce (coach team members & escalate repetitive problems to Group Lead) company rules consistently and evenly

Assist the production line
  • Ensure start up and shutdown procedures are completed
  • Support line problem resolution
  • Address bottlenecks
  • Motivate team for performance goals - give positive energy
  • Change personnel line up - as needed, coordination with Group Lead
  • Communicate change over activity with support departments (sub, warehouse)
  • Ensure (coach team members & escalate repetitive problems to Group Lead) training is being handled properly and consistently per outline
  • Be willing to operate as needed but also know oversight is always expected within your assigned area.

Respect work hours, support production goals and timetables, which may require overtime
  • Start of Shift Meetings - coordinate/ hold to support supervisor as requested
    • Meeting starts on time - enforce with operators
    • Cover safety, quality, and machine issues (from previous shift or support updates)
  • Lead by example

Ensure adequate training of all operators:
  • Complete days 1 & 2 training with all new operators
  • Ensure new hires read and understand the work instructions for their designated working area
  • Coach all operator on Stop, Call, Wait policy
  • Complete training guides for all new operators when training is completed
  • Ensure all operators in your assigned area have same understandings and complete all functions similarly

Ensures the following: Utilizing knowledge of ISO14000 & TS16949 ensures all associates follow procedures and work instructions PEV / IPIS / WI's / Training guides All production, scrap, and down time reports are completed properly and timely
  • Coach operators to fill out scrap tickets fully
  • Support Group Lead with required documentation/ information for end of shift reporting

Product and/or component dimensions are checked via in-process inspection check sheets with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions Equipment is monitored for unusual sounds, movements or appearance that may indicate problems. Addresses any abnormalities. Changing of simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types. Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship.
Recording of process equipment settings and conditions using equipment verification check sheets
  • PEV/ IPIS - Done each shift - within the first two hours of shift start
  • 4M sheet complete each shift
  • Complete QSF-130-68-69 and QSF-130-68-70 training

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Demonstrated leadership skills required.
  • Three (3) years manufacturing experience with preference in equipment set up, CNC machining, measurements, and calculations.
  • Enough reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Enough manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  • Enough visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and visually inspect parts products.
  • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
  • Physical strength enough to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, push, pull, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
