Job description


Workshop Mechanic
Position Summary:
Working under general supervision conducting examinations, diagnosis, and troubleshooting as well as small and major repairs, on a wide range of MEWPS (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms) ensuring that customer specifications are met. Carry out all task to the highest standards and ensure a safe environment for your colleagues and yourself.
Performance Expectations:
• Quality assurance and safety checks on completed MEWPS prior to delivery to our customers.
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical and electrical systems,
• Ensure that all MEWPS are prepped, cleaned ready for shipment.
• Inspection of surfaces to detect minor chips and scratches in paint. Touch up imperfections.
• Maintain work area, ensuring proper clean up after inspections are complete.
• Ensure compliance with all legislative and Linamar policies.
• Support other team members as required to ensure deadlines are met and all work is completed to a high standard.
• Report any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other duties as assigned.
Credentials:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Evidence of technical training in a mechanical field would be an advantage.
• The successful candidate would need to gain a license or certification to operate a Forklift and Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) equipment.
Desired Characteristics:
• Has a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Will be organized and detail oriented.
• The ability to read drawings to perform minor repairs
• Must work efficiently, safely, either independently, or with a team.
• Must have strong communication skills.
• Must have computer experience i.e. work with Microsoft products.
• Is self-motivated to complete the required daily tasks within the specified deadlines.
• Has the ability to continuously learn on the job.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) is an advantage.
