The Position:
As the Manager, LIMS, you will lead the administration, enhancement, and operational excellence of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) ecosystem that supports regulated clinical laboratory operations. Partnering closely with Laboratory Operations, Engineering, Quality, and cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure laboratory systems remain reliable, compliant, scalable, and aligned with evolving business needs.
This role combines people leadership, technical expertise, and operational focus to support diagnostic testing, drive continuous improvement, and enable future growth. You will help build solutions that improve laboratory efficiency while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, quality, and accountability consistent with Veracyte's values.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for LIMS administration, support, configuration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with laboratory and business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate requirements into effective system solutions.
  • Ensure LIMS platforms and associated processes comply with applicable regulatory, quality, privacy, and data integrity requirements.
  • Oversee system configuration, validation, implementation, release management, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Establish and maintain system governance, documentation, audit readiness, and change control processes.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex system issues, implementing sustainable corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to maintain validated and secure environments.
  • Drive process improvement and automation initiatives that enhance laboratory efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Manage vendors, support partners, and technology relationships to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Lead projects involving system enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and new capabilities.
  • Ensure successful integration of LIMS with laboratory instruments, laboratory workflows, and other business-critical systems.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Who You Are:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting, administering, implementing, or managing LIMS platforms in regulated laboratory environments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading and developing technical or business systems teams.
  • Experience leading LIMS implementations, upgrades, integrations, or significant enhancement projects.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory operations, sample lifecycle management, and laboratory data processes.
  • Experience working within regulated environments, including system validation and change control practices.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a scientific, technical, or business-related discipline.
  • Experience supporting molecular diagnostics, genomics, oncology testing, LDT, or IVD environments.
  • Experience with commercial or custom LIMS platforms and laboratory ecosystem applications.
  • Experience with Labbit or other laboratory workflow and sample management platforms is highly valued.
  • Experience integrating laboratory systems, instruments, cloud-based platforms, and enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with laboratory automation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting multi-site laboratory operations in a growing organization.

#LI-Hybrid
For candidates based in our San Diego office, the range is $145,000 - $169,000.
For candidates based in our South San Francisco office, the range is $169,000- $181,000.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
