Essential Job Functions:

  • Closing and balancing all room accounts.ย 
  • Counting and balancing cash and credit card receipts.ย 
  • Balancing direct bill accounts.ย 
  • Verifying and balancing vouchers.ย 
  • Running a trial balance report.ย 
  • Investigation or analyzing outโ€ofโ€balance situations.ย 
  • Making adjustments or corrections to accounts as needed.
  • Completing various computer audit reports.ย 
  • Assist in setting up breakfast in the mornings.ย 
  • Providing information to guests about hotel policies, services and amenities.
  • Respondingย  to requestsย  from guestsย  for assistance and information aboutย  the localย  area (e.g. directions, places to eat, etc.).ย 
  • Selling rooms to โ€œwalkโ€inโ€ customers.ย 
  • Entering/changing reservation information on the computer system.
  • Posting charges to guest accounts.ย 
  • Processing payments from guests.ย 
  • Making necessary corrections to guest accounts.
  • Informing housekeeping department about room status/availability.
  • Listening for and responding to guest complaints.ย 
  • Operating hotel switchboard or Lightspeed .ย 
  • Cleaning the front desk / registration area and public areas.ย 
  • Maintaining daily logs.
  • Maintaining proper inventories in sundry shop and business center.
