As a lighting tech, your job is to work with the lighting designer to implement their vision by hanging, focusing, and programming the lighting system. Work as a lighting technician varies dramatically between jobs, but common responsibilities include interpreting the lighting plot, inventorying and collecting the lighting units available, and ordering more gels, gobos, bulbs, and units, if necessary.
