IMMEDIATELY HIRING - Traveling Commercial Lighting Technician Foreman

Reliable Electric and Lighting - Houston, Texas
$23.00-$25.00 per Hour + Typically 15-20 Hours OT/Week + $30 Daily Per Diem

Reliable Electric and Lighting is immediately hiring experienced Traveling Commercial Lighting Technician Foremen in the Houston, Texas area for our national commercial lighting retrofit projects.

We have been in business for 30 years and specialize in commercial electrical service and large-scale lighting retrofit projects for major national retail customers throughout the United States.

Commercial lighting retrofit experience is required. Candidates must have hands-on experience with both interior and exterior lighting retrofit projects.

This is a traveling, working Foreman position. You will lead a field crew while also working alongside your team to complete lighting retrofit projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Compensation
  • $23.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Typically 15-20 hours of overtime per week

Job Description

The Traveling Commercial Lighting Technician Foreman leads field crews performing interior and exterior commercial lighting retrofits, replacements, upgrades, and installations at commercial and retail facilities throughout the United States.

Our Foremen are hands-on leaders. You will be responsible for the productivity and quality of your crew while also performing lighting retrofit work in the field.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise crews performing commercial lighting retrofit projects
  • Perform interior and exterior commercial lighting retrofits
  • Retrofit and replace existing lighting fixtures, lamps, drivers, ballasts, and related components
  • Install new LED lighting systems and retrofit existing fixtures to LED
  • Perform exterior lighting work, including parking lot, wall-pack, canopy, and building-mounted lighting
  • Perform interior lighting work in commercial and retail environments
  • Troubleshoot lighting and electrical issues encountered during retrofit projects
  • Read project scopes, lighting plans, fixture schedules, and installation instructions
  • Coordinate daily crew assignments and maintain productivity
  • Ensure work is completed according to project specifications and quality standards
  • Communicate project progress, material needs, and field issues with project management
  • Operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, ladders, and other equipment
  • Work safely and comfortably at elevated heights
  • Maintain accurate project documentation
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles
  • Ensure jobsites are left clean and professional
  • Travel extensively throughout the United States as projects require
Required Qualifications
  • Commercial lighting retrofit experience is required
  • Experience performing both interior and exterior lighting retrofits is required
  • Previous experience leading a lighting crew or working as a Foreman
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lighting fixtures and retrofit applications
  • Experience working in commercial and retail environments
  • Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts
  • Comfortable working at heights and performing exterior lighting work
  • Ability to troubleshoot common lighting and installation problems
  • Ability to lead a crew while also performing hands-on installation work
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work nights or other project-specific schedules when required
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean driving record

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of commercial lighting installation work
The Person We're Looking For

We are not looking for someone who simply has general construction experience. We need an experienced commercial lighting retrofit professional who understands the pace and demands of large commercial and retail retrofit projects.

You should be comfortable leading a crew through both interior and exterior lighting work, operating lifts, working at heights, troubleshooting problems in the field, and communicating with project management.

Our Foremen are expected to lead from the front - keeping the crew productive while working alongside them.
