Job description

Company Overview
Our client is a rapidly growing electrical contractor specializing in commercial, industrial, and government solar energy, LED lighting, EVCS, and general electrical construction projects. They seek a Remote/Hybrid Project Manager to join their dynamic team, ideally within a 3-hour radius of Nashville, TN. Candidates located further away will be considered based on qualifications.
PROJECT MANAGER
Objective: The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all assigned projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all quality standards. The role prioritizes safety, company personnel, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination & Execution:
    • Manage 3-5 projects, simultaneously.
    • Lead on-site meetings, project walkthroughs, bidding, and contract negotiation.
    • Evaluate job site safety requirements and implement safety policies and training.
    • Prepare for on-site installations, anticipating challenges and coordinating resources.
    • Manage pre-construction RFI and Submittal processes.
  • Procurement & Quality Management:
    • Oversee material procurement and maintain high-quality standards for technical services, in partnership with suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Ensure quality through field work reviews and coordinate inspections with external experts. Quality assurance should focus on job efficiency, effectiveness and readiness.
    • Provide technical support and assistance, either directly or through contracted industry experts (i.e. Electrical Engineers, Professional Engineers, NABCEP, and Certified Installers).
  • Communication & Leadership:
    • Serve as the primary contact for clients, subcontractors, and site superintendents.
    • Provide technical support and manage project financials to budget, including cash flow and pay applications.
    • Communicate project status and potential delays to all stakeholders.
    • Coach site superintendents, provide feedback, and ensure accountability for project aspects (i.e., safety, costs, schedule, and quality).
  • Logistics & Documentation:
    • Formulate weekly plans with site teams (site superintendents and/or subcontractors), manage material deliveries, and maintain accurate records. Present plans and associated reports on a weekly basis to key leadership.
    • Coordinate logistics, safety, and schedules with subcontractors throughout each project.
    • Manage project financials to budget and prepare weekly/monthly cash flow reports, with accounting team, for review by key leadership.
    • Prepare and submit all project pay application to the client, as well as review and submit subcontractor pay applications.
    • Oversee associated change order processes with site superintendent, client, and subcontractors.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
    • Cultivate and strengthen a portfolio of relationships with key clients, developers, architect, engineers, and general contractors.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices in project management.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
Job Requirements
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of three years in construction project management, with a preference for experience in electrical contracting and federal government projects.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in industry software such as Procore, BlueBeam, Revit, and AutoCAD.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong understanding and management of job budgets and deadlines.
    • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Adobe.
    • Keen understanding of methods, equipment, and tools used in electrical contracting, solar construction and/or lighting projects strongly preferred.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
    • Ability to adapt to changing project demands and work in a fast-paced environment.
