Summary (Position Description): As a Project Manager you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects related to custom controls, retrofits, and turn-key industrial refrigeration projects. Responsibilities may change over time, based on business growth, personal ability, and other factors. In addition to project development, develop a high level of proficiency with related equipment, such as screw compressor microprocessor panels, and overall refrigeration system operations, using various communication protocols. The primary industrial PLC platforms are Allen Bradley (Rockwell), GE, Wonderware, and Opto22, with other systems as required on a job specific basis. Projects typically include compressor, condensers, vessels, air units and refrigeration safeties. The projects include variable speed drives and communications with other equipment and devices, as well as enterprise networking. Project scope often includes large industrial and commercial refrigeration systems and related controls, as well as other energy using systems, such as air compression, lighting, HVAC, pumping systems, boilers, etc.


Reports To: PM Manager

Status: Full time, Salary Exempt


Duties & Tasks:


•Perform project scheduling for all activities using Smartsheet.

•Manage subcontractors and create daily schedules for the installation process including all trades that are working on the project.

•Perform start-up and commissioning schedules for all activities during the commissioning phase.

•Manage customer expectations related to current and future projects.

•Manage project on-site activities for all trades associated with the project.

•Manage project deliverables to the site, including panels, equipment, and field devices.

•Coordination with customers and suppliers related to project tasks and items.

•Manage, host and attend project meetings, keeping meeting notes and task assignments.

•Effective communications with the project team and customers.

•Manage technical information within VaCom and the customer, technical coordination with vendors, contractors, and customers.

•Assist with project start up, commissioning and training either remotely or at the project site.

•Respond to customer request and coordination of support effort by VaCom and or contractors.

•Provide change orders as needed during the project execution.

Requirements:


•A valid Driver’s License.

•Strong spreadsheet skills and word document preparation (e.g. documentation, manuals, and proposals, PC programs like Microsoft Project)

•Ability to trouble shoot at a high-level electromechanical system.



Work Environment:


•This job is performed in a professional office and a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. Work time will be spent in a standard office environment with manufacturing plant exposure. Travel is required when necessary, including international requiring a valid driver license. Temperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions. You are required to wear PPE at all times when on the Manufacturing floor such as steel toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.


Physical Demands:


•The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. This position is active and may require kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing. At times you will be required to travel to Customer sites which include Machine Rooms, Mechanical Houses and/or Commercial and Industrial facilities, which at times requires roof access via ladder and/or stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and May be required to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion and 30 or more pounds on a regular basis.
