The Role
The Senior Electrical Engineer will work with a team of Engineers and Designers focused on projects primarily in design of low and medium voltage power distribution systems, motor control, lighting, and grounding systems for industrial, port, and manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial and self-motivated, passionate of the Electrical discipline, and communicative with team members and clients. At Harris Group, you are an owner via our Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) and have an opportunity to be a shareholder in the company.

The Responsibilities
  • Be a trusted leader in your field of expertise.
  • Work with local and remote office discipline staff in the preparation of plans, specifications, calculations, technical reports, engineering estimates, codes, regulations, and technical matters for professional development.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Model and conduct power system studies and analyses (short circuit, load flow, protective relay coordination and arc flash analysis).
  • Interface with key clients and project staff in formal, informal and project team meetings.
  • Ability to organize workload of yourself and other staff to meet quality requirements, meet internal and external deliverable deadlines, and manage to allotted budgets.
  • Participate in field investigations and provide permit startup and construction support for projects.

The Requirements
B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of electrical design experience in the consulting engineering industry. Previous experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, and grounding systems for industrial, manufacturing, or chemical process facilities preferred.
  • Washington State PE License required with ability to get NCEES Record to get licensed in other states Harris Group performs work.
  • In-depth working knowledge and application of the electrical discipline.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to grow and lead a team.
  • Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs, including the NEC, ANSI, IEEE, and non-residential energy codes and standards.
  • Proficient in Easy Power or SKM power system modeling, AGi32 or Visual Lighting Software is a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to off-site locations and accept client site assignments when required.
  • Ability to pass Client badging and screening processes.
