Job description

Responsibilities
  • An aerial lighting technician is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining lighting equipment at significant heights, such as on utility poles, construction sites, or high-reaching lifts for film sets. Key qualifications include certifications for operating aerial lifts (e.g., OSHA, scissor lift, or boom lift training), a strong background in high-voltage electricity, and exceptional physical stamina.  Essential Technical Qualifications
    • Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 General Industry/Construction, Aerial Lift Operator Certification (scissor and boom lifts), and Fall Protection Training. 
    • Electrical Knowledge: A journeyman electrician card, electrical trade certificate, or degree in electrical/aeronautical engineering is highly preferred to handle high-voltage circuitry and power distribution. 
    • Rigging & Safety: Expertise in knot-tying, load capacities, and securing heavy fixtures above ground safely. 
    Required Skills
    • Mechanical Aptitude: Proficiency in using heavy power tools, circuit testers, and diagnostic equipment. 
    • Physical & Mental Fortitude: Lack of acrophobia (fear of heights), comfortable working in extreme weather conditions, and the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50+ pounds.
    • Attention to Detail & Troubleshooting: Ability to read schematics, quickly identify electrical faults, and resolve equipment failures on the fly
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree
  • At least 2-4 years of lighting and electrical experience.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must be reliable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive customer service skills
