Job description

Position Summary:
The Packer plays a key role in ensuring that all finished products are packaged accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations. This position is responsible for completing packing tasks, inspecting packaging for quality, and maintaining accurate documentation to support production flow. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform all assigned packing tasks efficiently and accurately while following company procedures.
  • Inspect all boxes and packages to ensure proper packing standards and correct date coding.
  • Monitor overflow product to minimize waste and maximize product recovery.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Maintain accurate records related to packaging and production documentation.
  • Provide coverage and support in other departments when needed.
  • Assist with training new team members as assigned.
  • Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions related to GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, and SQF.
  • Apply food safety knowledge and demonstrate compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and company policies applicable to job responsibilities.
  • Meet or exceed quality, safety, sanitation, and production performance standards.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by supervision.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions, procedures, and product labeling related to packaging and sanitation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position satisfactorily.
Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally required to lift, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time).
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment.
  • Capable of performing light to medium duty physical tasks.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
  • Safety eyewear required in designated areas.
  • Protective clothing, gloves, and hair nets are required in accordance with GMP standards.
  • Additional PPE may be required depending on specific tasks or location within the facility.
