Job description

Job Title: Line Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated 2nd Shift Operator Technician who is eager to develop into a Maintenance Technician. Initially starting as a Finish Technician, you will be responsible for setting up machines and responding to malfunctions within a specified department. Your role will involve troubleshooting and minor repairs, collaborating with Maintenance Technicians for complex issues, and educating other operators to minimize repetitive errors.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate finishing machines.
  • Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians on complex troubleshooting.
  • Educate and guide operators to prevent machine errors.
  • Respond promptly to radio calls and communicate professionally.
  • Maintain and monitor equipment such as hydraulic/pneumatic pumps, spray guns, hoses, conveyors, ovens, and more.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work overtime and in different areas as needed.
  • Proficiency in logical thinking and problem-solving.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with preventive maintenance and repair.
  • Background in machine operation and setup.
  • Physically capable of working in high temperatures and maneuvering heavy equipment.
  • Customer service mindset to address production needs and communicate effectively.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic and physical environment where temperatures can reach up to 105ยฐF during summer. The role involves exposure to paint and stain fumes, with PPE provided for specific tasks. The position is a 2nd shift role, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm, with a $2/hr shift premium for off-shift hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Goshen, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
