The Platform Manager is responsible for driving growth and increasing market share for Konecranes chain hoists, KBK workstation crane systems, and jib cranes across North America. This role focuses on developing and executing product strategies that strengthen Konecranes' competitive position, expand sales channels, and increase adoption of these product lines.

The Platform Manager will conduct market research, identify growth opportunities, and develop sales and go-to-market strategies aligned with regional business goals.

The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver measurable business growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Strategy and Market Growth

  • Develop and execute the North American product strategy for Konecranes chain hoists, KBK systems, and jib cranes to increase market share and revenue.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Define regional product positioning, pricing strategy, and value propositions for target market segments.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to expand sales channels and improve product penetration across industries and regions.

Coordination with Global Product Teams

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the North American business and the global platform teams responsible for product development.
  • Communicate regional customer needs, regulatory requirements, and market opportunities to ensure global product roadmaps align with North American market demands.
  • Provide input on product improvements, feature priorities, and product lifecycle decisions based on regional feedback.

Customer and Market Engagement

  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs through direct engagement, site visits, market analysis, and customer feedback.
  • Represent the voice of the North American customer in product discussions and strategic decisions.
  • Monitor product performance, market share trends, and customer satisfaction to identify improvement opportunities.

Sales Strategy and Enablement

  • Develop and implement sales strategies and programs to increase adoption of Konecranes chain hoists, KBK systems, and jib cranes.
  • Support and collaborate with sales teams across North America to drive product sales, including direct engagement with key accounts and strategic opportunities.
  • Provide training, tools, and playbooks to improve the effectiveness of sales channels in positioning and selling these product lines.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify actions needed to meet product growth targets.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with regional teams including sales, marketing, service, and executive leadership to align product strategies with business objectives.
  • Partner with marketing teams to develop product messaging, campaigns, and promotional materials that clearly communicate product advantages and value.
  • Facilitate communication between regional stakeholders and global product teams to ensure alignment on priorities and market initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Experience with overhead material handling equipment or related industrial processes is preferred.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience in product management, product marketing, or business development roles.
  • Experience working in industrial equipment, manufacturing, or related industries is preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel as required, including overnight trips.
  • Travel is estimated to be approximately 50%, including customer visits, sales support, and coordination with regional and global teams.
