Job description

Role Summary:

The Sales Engineer will work in conjunction the with Sales Team (Directors - Regional Managers - 3rd party Manufacturer's Representatives and Distributors) and other functional team members to promote and sell Flowserve Control, Engineered and Process Valves along with automation and aftermarket services in assigned geographic territory.

This position is a focused, high-end, lead technical sales role pursuing bookings growth for projects, MRO and aftermarket services at strategic and targeted accounts. Up to 50% travel may be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive bookings levels in the $14,000,000+ annual range to meet and/or exceed assigned bookings' goal.
  • Introduction, promotion, and sales of all Flowserve FCD Control / Process Valve and Automation portfolio.
  • Training and management of independent representative and distribution sales force.
  • Support joint sales calls with contracted reps and distributors, and independently in some cases when needed.
  • Maintain existing accounts and penetrate new targeted accounts to grow Flowserve FCD market share.
  • Prepare weekly forecasts and maintain FlowForce (Salesforce) CRM database with key accounts, opportunities, and TAR schedules.
  • Prepare and submit any assigned reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for organizing monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings with all sales channels.
  • Support recruitment and management of reps and distributors to drive bookings growth.
  • Drive to get Flowserve FCD products specified in key applications and/or on customers' AML where applicable.
  • Sales Engineers are expected to develop and maintain a working knowledge of the customer's mechanical and chemical processes, as well as technical knowledge of Flowserve FCD's products and performance characteristics.
  • Sales Engineers are expected to maintain a professional appearance and disposition in performance of their duties on behalf of Flowserve's Values.
  • Must effectively collaborate with application engineers, customer service, and manufacturing to ensure customer's needs are met.
  • Some physical activity required, such as walking large customer sites, lifting at least 50 lbs., and ascending/descending ladders and staircases in multi-story facilities
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or 5 years+ of related experience in successful technical sales to Industrial Process Control related industries.
  • Direct experience selling control valves and process valves / automation.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and communicate productively with others.
  • Requires strategic thinking, resourcefulness, and planning coupled with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Must be highly motivated, communicative, and self-starter type to drive growth and success successfully.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%
