Utility Operator I (Shop Helper)
Location: Hillsboro, OR
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00/hour
Are you looking to start or grow your career in manufacturing? We are seeking a Utility Operator I to support daily manufacturing operations and assist with a variety of production processes. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in quality, and is eager to learn multiple areas of manufacturing.
What You'll Do
  • Deburr, grind, sand, and clean manufactured metal parts
  • Remove sharp edges, slag, burrs, and other surface imperfections
  • Operate and assist with saw equipment
  • Use drill press equipment for production tasks
  • Load and unload materials at laser, saw, and bending work centers
  • Stage raw materials and work-in-process according to production schedules
  • Sort, count, identify, and move completed parts to the next operation
  • Perform basic quality inspections using work instructions, drawings, and measuring tools
  • Maintain accurate part identification and prevent parts from being mixed
  • Support machine operators with material handling, cleanup, and routine production activities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Report quality, equipment, or material concerns to supervisors
Qualifications
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required
