Job Summary

The Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor is responsible to teach basic and advanced levels of swimming techniques and ensure the safety of the swimmers at the pool. To monitor and maintain safety within the pool area. It is responsible for administering first aid, and instructing swim classes, supervising the swimmers, maintaining the pool area. The Lifeguard/Swimming Instructor works according to set procedures under direct supervision.

Key Functions/Knowledge/Skills

Monitors and observes the pool area for safety, weather, temperature, and other conditions.
Acts as a lifeguard by watching over the swimmers and other patrons to ensure safety.
Performs first aid, CPR, and other rescue functions.
Sets-up the pool area, brings out equipment, and closes the pool.
Cleans the pool deck, facility, restrooms, and other surrounding pool areas.
Performs related tasks, as necessary.

Minimum Education & Experience

High school graduation or GED preferred.
One (1) year of work-related experience.
Required to demonstrate swimming skills.

Special Certifications & Licenses

Valid Texas Driver's License
American Red Cross First Aid & Safety Community CPR or CPR for the Professional.
