Familiarity with rescue equipment and emergency response systems is typically required. Excellent observation skills, quick decision-making, and effective communication are vital soft skills for this role. These skills ensure the safety of swimmers, enable rapid response to emergencies, and help prevent accidents in aquatic environments.
