Job Title: Lifeguard

Position Type: Part Time

Reports To: Lifeguard Manager

WorldSprings is the outdoor, social-wellness experience that helps every guest feel better through globally-inspired soaking waters.

Position Overview:

Lifeguards are trained operators who are responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment, reducing the risk of accidents, and ensuring the well-being of all individuals using the pool/spa facilities. Lifeguards are responsible for the successful communication of safety rules with guests and team members in both positive and stressful situations. Professionalism and a positive attitude must be always displayed. Rescue Readiness, First Aid, and crowd control are all basic daily functions. Working outdoors in all weather conditions while performing physically demanding tasks is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Monitor the swimming areas to prevent accidents.
  • Actively scan the water and surrounding areas to identify potential hazards or distressed swimmers.
  • Collaborate with other lifeguards and departments to coordinate responses during emergency incidents.
  • Participate in regular training exercises and drills to stay up to date on emergency response procedures.
  • Act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations to rescue swimmers in distress.
  • Administer first aid and, if necessary, perform CPR or use AEDs to save lives.
  • Assist in the removal of injured or unwell individuals from the water.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the water and property, communicate with the proper department or individual should you need support with adhering to our cleanliness standards.
  • Regularly check and maintain safety equipment, including rescue tubes, backboards, lifejackets etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering customer questions, addressing concerns, and aiding swimmers and visitors.
  • Maintain a courteous, positive, and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Maintain accurate incident reports, recording details of accidents, rescues and any medical interventions.
  • Enforce pool safety rules and standards to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Take necessary action and use escalation protocols should guests violate set rules and regulations that disrupt the environment or show signs of potential threat to others.
