Job description

Vistex is a global enterprise software and services company that helps businesses take control of their mission-critical processes. With a multitude of programs covering pricing, trade, royalties and incentives, it can be complicated to see where all the money is flowing, let alone how much difference it makes to the topline and the bottom line. With Vistex, business stakeholders can see the numbers, see what really works, and see what to do next – so they can make sure every dollar spent or earned is really driving growth, and not just additional costs. The world’s leading enterprises across a spectrum of industries rely on Vistex every day to propel their businesses.

The Vistex Industry Principal for Life Sciences, North America, plays a key role in bringing industry expertise, market perspective, and thought leadership to our customers, prospects, and internal teams. This role helps strengthen Vistex’s position in the North American Life Sciences market by connecting industry challenges with Vistex solutions and by supporting go-to-market, sales, product, and marketing initiatives. The person in this role will work closely with the other Life Sciences Industry Principals to bring complementary expertise, align priorities, and support a coordinated global Life Sciences industry strategy.

We are looking for a senior Life Sciences commercial expert for North America with deep experience in pharmaceutical commercial operations, commercial excellence, pricing, contracting, market access, gross-to-net, rebates, tendering, channel programs, or broader go-to-market execution. The ideal candidate has operated as a Business Process Owner, Commercial Operations leader, Market Access or Pricing leader, Industry Principal, or equivalent subject matter expert with responsibility for pricing and/or commercial processes, performance, and business outcomes. Exposure to the Medical Device industry is highly valuable. Compliance knowledge is beneficial, but the primary focus of this role is commercial Go-to-Market strategy and execution.

This role focuses on four main areas:

  • Content development and thought leadership, including eBooks, blog posts, webinars, and other assets that support Vistex’s brand and market presence in Life Sciences.
  • Sales engagement, including support for sales executives and presales teams during discovery, demonstrations, presentations, and strategic deal discussions.
  • Industry engagement, including representation of Vistex at industry events, conferences, analyst discussions, and relevant standards or professional communities.
  • Product management support, including industry-specific guidance to internal stakeholders, competitive insight, functional requirements, and contribution to the Life Sciences product roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a North America Life Sciences commercial subject matter expert, with strong knowledge of pharmaceutical commercial operations, pricing, contracting, market access, gross-to-net, rebates, tendering, channel programs, or go-to-market execution.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of sales, marketing, finance, and business processes related to go-to-market programs in the Life Sciences industry.
  • Provide thought leadership on industry trends, market dynamics, commercial excellence, and go-to-market best practices for clients, prospects, and internal Vistex teams.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader Life Sciences Industry Principal team to share expertise, align messaging, support cross-functional initiatives, and provide a consistent industry perspective across customer and internal engagements.
  • Represent Vistex at industry events, webinars, analyst interactions, white papers, blogs, and industry discussions to strengthen Vistex’s market presence.
  • Provide industry-specific guidance to product development teams and internal stakeholders regarding Vistex go-to-market software solutions.
  • Assess competitive offerings and translate industry needs into clear functional requirements and product feedback.
  • Provide guidance on relevant performance standards, metrics, terminology, reporting, dashboards, and analytics required by Life Sciences commercial organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify trends, differentiating capabilities, and roadmap priorities for Life Sciences solutions.
  • Support sales and presales teams with RFPs, discovery sessions, demonstrations, presentations, and deal strategy as needed.
  • Participate in client and prospect meetings to provide industry expertise, business context, and solution positioning.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to sales, presales, and consulting teams, helping them understand industry best practices and how to position Vistex solutions effectively.
  • Help customers understand how Vistex solutions can support process optimization, program efficiency, revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitability.

The compensation for this position is $170k to $190k annually.  Base pay will vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s location, job-related knowledge, skills and work experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of a discretionary annual bonus.  Vistex provides highly competitive benefits including a comprehensive healthcare plan, 401(k), and paid time off, including paid volunteerism days!

About us: The Vistex platform helps businesses finally get control of all their different promotions, rebates, SPAs, discounts, and other incentives. With so many programs across so many partner relationships, it can be impossible to see where all the money is going, let alone how much difference it’s actually making to revenue. With Vistex, business leaders can see the numbers, see what really works, and see what to do next – so they can make sure every dollar they spend really is driving more growth, not just more costs. It’s why global enterprises ranging from Coca-Cola to Sony to Grainger rely on Vistex every day. Vistex | Now it all adds up. ™”
