What is a life insurance agent trainee?

A Life Insurance Agent Trainee is an individual who is in the process of learning how to sell life insurance policies to clients, typically under the guidance of experienced agents or through a structured training program. Trainees study the basics of different life insurance products, develop customer service and sales skills, and prepare for licensing exams required by the state. This entry-level role is designed to provide foundational knowledge about the insurance industry and help trainees gain real-world experience before becoming fully licensed agents. Successful completion of the training program often leads to a permanent position as a licensed life insurance agent. The position is ideal for those interested in a career in financial services and helping individuals plan for their financial future.

Exceptional interpersonal skills, active listening, and resilience help distinguish top performers in this role. These capabilities are crucial for building client trust, effectively educating customers, and consistently achieving sales targets in a competitive market.

Staying organized and resilient is key, as the first year is often the most demanding but also lays the foundation for long-term success.

Job description

Overview

The Safavi Agency is growing, and we are selectively bringing on licensed life insurance agents who are looking for more than a traditional 9–5.

We’re looking for driven, coachable, self-motivated people who want the flexibility of working remotely, the ability to control their income, and the opportunity to build a career that can grow far beyond personal production. Led by Ana Safavi, our agency is focused on two things: protecting families and developing leaders. For the right person, this can be the beginning of building your own business and eventually leading an agency of your own.

This is a 1099, commission-only opportunity with uncapped earning potential. There is no salary or hourly wage. Your income is directly connected to your activity, consistency, and results.

What You’ll Do
  • Connect with people who have already requested information about life insurance
  • Conduct phone and Zoom appointments
  • Learn about clients, their families, and their financial goals
  • Educate clients on their options and help them find appropriate coverage
  • Follow up consistently and professionally
  • Manage your pipeline through our CRM and virtual tools
  • Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and team development
  • Build your own book of business while developing the skills to eventually build and lead a team
What We Provide
  • You are not expected to figure everything out on your own.
  • We provide the systems, training, support, and resources to help you build your business.
  • Qualified leads from people actively looking for life insurance
  • A proven sales process and systems
  • CRM and virtual sales tools
  • Structured onboarding and training
  • Ongoing coaching and mentorship
  • A team environment focused on growth without micromanagement
  • The flexibility to work remotely and utilize different time zones to your advantage
  • The opportunity to grow from personal production into agency ownership
Who We’re Looking For
  • You do not need years of insurance or sales experience.
  • What matters more to us is who you are and how willing you are to learn.

*** We’re looking for someone who is:**

  • Coachable and open to feedback
  • Self-motivated and disciplined
  • Professional and comfortable communicating with people
  • Consistent with follow-up
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Driven to increase their income
  • Willing to invest in themselves and their business
  • Interested in building something long-term
  • You don't need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do every day.
  • You do need to be willing to work, learn, make calls, follow up, take coaching, and take ownership of your results.
  • If you're looking for a guaranteed paycheck with someone else determining your income, this probably isn't for you.
  • If you're looking for flexibility, unlimited income potential, personal growth, and the opportunity to build something that can become bigger than just your own production, let's talk.
Why the Safavi Agency?

Our mission is simple: Protect families. Develop leaders. Build something that lasts.

We believe you should be able to build a successful career without giving up the flexibility to live your life.

Our culture is built around:

  • Respect
  • Discipline
  • Family
  • Growth
  • Integrity
  • Leadership

We take what we do seriously, but we also believe in building a business that gives you more freedom—not less.
