Summary of Duties and Responsibilities Performs regulatory compliance review of documents; reviews financial statements; maintains extensive oral and written communication with corporate and legal representatives of registrants; analyzes contracts, leases, building specifications and other materials. Performs paralegal work in researching, analyzing and monitoring the status of assigned cases; writes legal memoranda and prepares routine legal documents for review and approval by a licensed attorney; reviews transcripts of hearings and case files and excerpts pertinent information; performs legal research for special projects and assignments. Requires experience in litigation support including determination of privileged documents; deposition preparation; abstracting depositions and trial transcripts; preparation of trial exhibits; and drafting and responding to discovery requests.
Performs other related duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of duties defined above. Work is performed with some independence under the supervision of a support staff coordinator with guidance from a staff attorney and is reviewed on the basis of personal conferences, reports and results obtained. Typical Qualifications Requires at least an Associate Degree (Bachelor Degree preferred) in business law or legal studies or completion of an approved paralegal training program and two years of advanced clerical work experience in a legal services operation or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; evaluate and interpret contracts, financial statements, and other complex documentation; and work within budgetary constraints needed. Minimal typing may be required. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees and the general public required. Supplemental Information Position requires in office attendance.
