Responsibilities of Middle School Librarian:

  • Cultivate a love of reading, strengthen information literacy, and design meaningful learning experiences that integrate research, technology, creativity, and critical thinking for middle school students.
  • Implement instructional practices that fosters students' information literacy and critical thinking skills.
  • Teach lessons on digital tools including how to thoughtfully use generative AI.
  • Assess current use of digital systems identifying needs for improvement, alignment, and faculty support.
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate best research practices into curriculum and enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Serve as an advisor for students, ensuring their academic success and overall development.


Requirements of Middle School Librarian:

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Previous K-12 teaching or school librarian experience required.
  • Expertise with library management systems.
  • Passion for working with middle school students.
  • Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems (LMS).
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.
