Job description

The Desktop Risk Mitigation (DRM) team is responsible for the identification, assessment, and remediation of security and compliance risks associated with enterprise desktop and endpoint devices. The team's mission is to ensure endpoints are securely configured, fully patched, policy-compliant, and aligned with regulatory and internal security requirements. This position will design, implement, and maintain infrastructure platforms for delivering applications. The engineer will build and manage scalable, reliable, and reusable platforms, tools, and environments for application development, deployment, and operations. Perform work associated with IT infrastructure and systems administration to include installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of IT software and hardware systems, IT data/voice network systems, and internal databases. Develop information technology strategies, polices and plans. Ensure performance and resource availability of computers and other IT systems. Growing an understanding of business needs and objectives. Solve a range of mostly straightforward problems with some increased scope and complexity. Developing professional with basic skill set and proficiency with procedures and techniques.
Responsibilities
  • Research, analyze, evaluate, and provide recommendations to management on direction for active risks, vulnerabilities, and exploitations
  • Conceive, plan, and research final technology solutions/products to remediate/mitigate vulnerabilities on End User systems and products
  • Develop, code, test, debug, and document the most complex platforms to achieve objectives
  • Package, test, and deploy system and application updates/patches to the end-user environment
  • Analyze, design, implement, operate, deploy, and support information technology resources (includes computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data processing and security)
  • Develop and implement engineering standards and processes; Lead cross-organizational initiatives to standardize technical practices and enhance platform resilience (inclusive of maintaining desktop standards, knowledge base, operating procedures, guidelines, and system documentation)
  • Troubleshoot problems and communicate status, findings and/or technical results; make recommendations and ensure implementation of compliance and communication protocols
  • Create and maintain infrastructure that supports application development (e.g., CI/CD pipelines)
  • Lead complex technical projects and initiatives with significant impact across the business
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact with the primary focus on mitigating threats, risks, and vulnerabilities
  • Recommend and implement improvements to EUC desktop architecture and design; Provide frameworks, libraries, and tools to standardize development and operations
  • Manage service escalation to resolution and identify continuous improvement opportunities as appropriate
  • Optimize platform reliability, scalability, and automation
  • Ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ETS standards and best practices
  • Manage and ensure adherence to SLAs/ Able to complete assignments within target deadlines
  • Serve as lead technical resource for other team members; mentor and guide lower-level staff on new and innovative techniques and strategies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in function
  • Familiarity with software and platform engineering concepts and methodologies and current development languages and methods
  • Basic skill involving technical applications/languages, information technology or specialized engineering methods
  • Basic skill in scripting languages for automation tasks (Python, Bash, etc)
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools.
