Job description

Library Media Teaching Assistant

Granby Public Schools is seeking candidates for a Library Media Teaching Assistant. The position will be split between Granby Memorial High School and Granby Memorial Middle School.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain an orderly appearance of the library media center and create/update displays and bulletin boards in the school.
  • Assist in shelving of media materials.
  • Assist with the supervision of students.
  • Assist staff and students in locating and using information, media, and equipment.
  • Provide assistance with the operation of audiovisual software and hardware.
  • Assist in the preparation of bibliographies and reserves.
  • Assist with the distribution and collection of textbooks and teacher resources.
  • Generate and disseminates overdue notices.
  • Assist in general equipment management including student technology (Chromebooks).

Other Job Functions:

  1. Assist in preparing and maintaining educational displays and materials which reinforce the District curriculum.
  2. Assist with the library media center inventory.
  3. Assist in the set up and preparations for meetings, presentations, assemblies, programs, in-services, etc.
  4. Maintain usage schedules of library media center media materials and equipment.
  5. Operate the circulation desk.
  6. Assist Library Media Specialist in preparation for class instruction.
  7. Assist in sorting and filing mail as directed by the Library Media Specialist.
  8. Perform clerical duties attached to selection, acquisition, processing, and weeding of library media materials.
  9. Support teachers in the first point of contact tech support in regards to software and hardware issues

Rate of pay for the 2026-2027 school year is $21.32/hour. Please include a resume, cover letter and three professional references along with your application.
