Seton Hall University Libraries is looking for a Social Media Intern to help take our social media presence, particularly on Instagram, to the next level. The goal of the @shu_libraries account is to build engagement with all users but especially students by highlighting materials from our collections, advertising events, and educating followers about our resources. The University Libraries Social Media Intern will work 8-10 hours on a weekly basis.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Under supervision of the Social Media Coordinator, the Social Media Intern will:
• Assist in the development, filming and editing of video content
• Create and update graphics for library events, resources, and spaces
• Attend library events to photograph/film content to post in real time to @shu_libraries Instagram stories
• Engage with other accounts on the @shu_libraries account
• Assist in research of other library/educational institutions to collaborate on new content ideas
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Undergraduate or Graduate student at Seton Hall
• Federal Work Study award
• Interest in any of the following disciplines: social media, communications, digital marketing, film/photography, graphic design, history, libraries/archives/museums
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram
• Experience filming/editing short videos/reels
• Experience with Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or any similar software a plus
