Undergrad Student Employee - Library

Position: Student Employee - Library
Department: Library
Classification: Part-time, non-benefit eligible
Rate: State minimum wage
Responsibilities:
1. Discharge and shelve circulating, reserve materials. Juvenile and text books are responsibility of the students who work at the information desk.
2. Assist with basic Interlibrary Loan duties (requested from Silvia)
3. Cooperates as team member with library staff in performing duties essential to efficient and user-friendly library service.
4. Working on assign projects such data entry, library errands as needed and other duties as assigned.
5. Check working email for notifications and messages - if you need help please contact us for questions.
6. Keep record of any transaction done in Circulation and Information desk - Use LibInsight for that.
7. Do headcount at the half hour on the hour
8. You need to help to reinforce the library policy when students bring food at the 2nd floor. Advise students "Clean up after yourself", make sure that is happening.
Required Qualifications:
Must be a currently enrolled Benedictine student in good standing.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Use of computer screen, phone and customer service.
May require bending or sitting for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The following of campus specific guidelines for pandemic protocols is required.
Training: As a University employee you are required to complete all University-specific and/or OSHA related training to fulfill your job duties. Specific training will be conducted online or in person. Employees must complete all trainings required by Benedictine University.
Location: Library
Hours per week: 6-10 hours per week
Days/Times Preferred: Monday through Thursday, between 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. or Friday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
