Job description

3Red Partners, a proprietary trading firm headquartered in Chicago, is seeking a Graduate C++ Developer (2027 Incoming Graduate) to join the team. Our team has extensive, global experience in a wide variety of asset classes, risk management, and leading trading technologies. We focus our efforts on hiring extremely talented and motivated individuals to collaborate with each other and be on the forefront of leveraging technology and math to implement sophisticated trading strategies.

The Graduate C++ Developer will have the opportunity to work in our Chicago headquarters focusing on all aspects of our high-frequency trading system. We are seeking a candidate that is looking for an opportunity to make a real impact, deliver value, and work within an experienced team.

Your impact:

  • Implement, test, and deploy trading system features and tools according to business needs
  • Monitor low latency trading system performance, ensure market data and research resource utilization issues are tracked, bugs are fixed and deployed appropriately
  • Liaise internally with traders and developers to discuss performance optimizations, vet ideas and questions, refactor existing implementation, and monitor updates to the OS, libraries, and current internal frameworks
  • Investigate improvements to the trading system; diagnose, debug, and address issues when needed

Your background & skills:

  • A student completing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree with an emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, graduating in 2027 by August 2027
  • 1+ industry internships working in C++
  • Experience with coding languages, specifically, C++ (data structures) 
  • Knowledge of low-level systems, third-party libraries (i.e. STL and Boost), linux environments, git
  • Exceptional problem solving, written, and verbal communication skills
