About the Program
Join Marotta Controls' Engineering internship/Co-Op Program and take your classroom knowledge into the real world of aerospace and defense. The ECAD Co-Op Program provides engineering students with hands-on experience supporting the design and documentation of aerospace and defense electronic systems. Participants assist engineers with schematic capture, PCB layout, and electrical drawings while learning industry design tools, standards, and configuration control processes used in regulated aerospace and defense environments. The program builds practical skills in electronic design, engineering documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
  • Assist engineers with schematic updates and PCB layout using OrCAD
  • Maintain component libraries, including symbols and footprints
  • Update electrical drawings and documentation based on engineering redlines and changes
  • Generate ECAD outputs for manufacturing
  • Maintain design files and revision control in the document management system
  • Assist with engineering change documentation and design reviews

What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology program.
  • Strong GPA and excellent grades in core engineering courses.
  • Ability to read circuit schematics and manage technical data
  • Ability to work with electrical, mechanical, and systems teams
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Detail-oriented, precise, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to OrCAD design software is not required but preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Availability to work full-time onsite beginning September 2026 through the end of December 2026.

Work Environment:
This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds
