Job description

Pittsburg State University Library Services is seeking to hire an Evening and Weekend Library Aide. This part-time position will primarily work evening shifts during the week and provide weekend coverage during library business hours. Two positions are available at 19 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Oversee library physical space, processes, and services during weekend and evening hours. 

  • Collaborate with day shift public services faculty and staff to align evening activity with daytime activities. 

  • Provide reference and customer service duties in support of student success and faculty scholarly work. 

  • Conduct other materials, collection, or e-resource projects as assigned by the Public Services Librarian or the Dean of Library Services. 

  • Collaborate with colleagues and customers in an effective and respectful manner while meeting project goals and providing services. 

Education and Experience 

Required Education and Experience - Time of Hire 

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • 1 years' experience with Microsoft Office or similar in an office setting.  

  • One year of work experience in an education environment.  

Preferred Education and Experience - 

  • Associate degree 

Job Type: Unclassified, Part-Time, 999 Employee

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Appointment Duration: 12 months
