Guardian Veterinary Hospital is welcoming a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. We are a leading emergency and specialty referral hospital, delivering advanced care in a state-of-the-art 25,000-square-foot facility. Our hospital offers referral-based, board-certified specialty services in Internal Medicine and Surgery, supported by cutting-edge diagnostic technology.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee multiple emergency and hospitalized cases per shift
Treat in-house patients during quieter periods between emergency cases
Support and mentor junior staff through practical, hands-on guidance and collaborative team discussions.
Collaborate with specialists to ensure patient care is the top priority
Offer exemplary customer service that builds loyalty and trust with your clients
Complete medical records efficiently and accurately
Qualifications:
Internship trained preferred OR 2 years of direct working experience in an emergency or urgent care.
Strong diagnostic, surgical and emergency care skills
Strong organizational skills, which allow you to stay focused and work under pressure
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
Eligible to be licensed in the province of Alberta
Capable of multi-case management per shift
Willing to actively manage and treat in-house patients during quieter periods between emergency cases
Will collaborate and mentor junior staff through hands-on learning and during team meetings in a constructive and caring manner
Will collaborate with specialists to ensure patient care is the top priority
