AtTeradyne, our Cooperative Education and Internship program is designed to deliver meaningful, fast paced and real-life work experiences that are relevant to your career and academic goals. Our program offers practical work experience in a business environment, with the opportunity to contribute and add value to the organization. 

As an AI Engineering Intern, you will work on applied AI initiatives involving autonomous agent design, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent decision-making systems for test and measurement applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to explore model training, data generation, and the integration of AI capabilities into engineering software platforms. This role offers hands-on experience building practical AI systems in a real-world engineering environment. We welcome students in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with strong programming and AI backgrounds.

  • Design and implement autonomous AI agent systems capable of intelligent decision-making, adaptive reasoning, and structured output generation.
  • Develop and fine-tune machine learning models, including large language models, for engineering domain applications.
  • Support synthetic data generation, data preparation, and model evaluation pipelines.
  • Contribute to the integration of AI agent workflows with instrumentation and software platforms.
  • Collaborate with software and engineering teams to prototype and validate AI-enabled solutions.
  • Document experiments, model behavior, and results clearly for team review and reproducibility.

  • Pursuing or obtained a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to build end-to-end AI or software systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar).
  • Experience designing agent-based or autonomous systems with structured decision logic is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with large language models and modern AI development tools.
  • Exposure to test, measurement, or hardware instrumentation concepts is a plus.
  • Experience with AI orchestration or agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, or similar) is a plus.

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position. 

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. 

Compensation:
The base hourly range for this role is $25.50-$47.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
